PORTLAND, Ore.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 23, 2001--Model Technology(TM) Inc., a Mentor Graphics company, today announced that its ModelSim® simulation tool has been listed as the industry's leading VHDL tool for ASIC and FPGA designers for the fifth consecutive year.

According to the Gartner Dataquest November 2000 report, titled, ``EDA 2000: Sorting Through the Confusion,'' ModelSim leads with 59 percent of the VHDL market share for 1999. Model Technology also saw an increase of more than 80 percent in its Verilog market share growth over 1998.
